Roller Wiki-editor test

September 10th, 2004 by Hen

Really need to put together a dev environment for my Roller hackings.
Really and truly.
This hacking adds Wiki-like features.
Only a few to start with, two _ characters are bold, two ‘ are italic and newlines are maintained.
Well, N newlines become N-1 br tags.
TODO

* Ability to escape bold/italic.
* Automatic url’ing of http://… and img://…
* Underlined text Headings
* * and # usage for bullets/lists
As you might have gathered, this entry is largely so I can see that this worked.

    Why not to use an existing renderer like Radeox?

  2. Matt Raible Says:

    You know that Roller supports JSPWiki and Textile, right?

  3. Henri Yandell Says:

    JSPWiki support seemed to be for creating pages, rather than blog-entries (and comments).

    I saw Lance mention Textile and need to hunt down what that is etc :)

    The +ve side to this approach is that I can plug it in as an editor, rather than figure out how to hook things into the commit side of a entry, or even worse have a renderer for entries.

  4. Matt Raible Says:

    Actually, AFAIK JSPWiki syntax can only be used for blog entries, not for pages.

    Also, I had to hack my own install to add wiki comments:

  5. Lance Lavandowska Says:

    Yes, JSPWiki/Radeon/Textile syntax are all optionally supported for the creation of blog entries. On the editor page look under “Plugins to Apply” (that needs a better title). Mouse-over the question-mark after each “plugin” to get a brief explanation (and possible links to further info).

    Thank you for the info!
