Renouncing US citizenship

This is lovely, if a US citizen decides to renounce their citizenship [must be on foreign soil], they are still eligible for the draft.

    Yeah, my selective service card turned up a while back. I was livid, but fortunately noticed that having to worry about it ends at 26, and I was just over that age.

    In typical nationalistic sense, I think ours is better. At least we enforce that the person leaving has somewhere to go. [Although I bet there are lots of deportation exceptions]

    Also, any male in the US on a green card can be drafted. I used to joke with an Irish friend that he would be in a tight spot if the US declared war on Ireland and drafted him :)
