Old chestnut of English journalism

Seems the Beeb isn’t immune to the easy road of a tabloid headline:

Pompey locals show Dunkirk spirit

Pulling Dunkirk out of the hat seems a classic line of journalism. However, I can’t help but think:

“What, they got in their boats and sailed to France?”
