I had that in my left hand (little finger) and a bit of sympathetic pins and needles in the little finger of my right hand. Lasted a couple of weeks. It was like my left hand was asleep and it felt like constant pins and needles. It's gotten better since I've been back, but it was still scary for a guy who makes his living with his hands.
