AL 2.0 / GPLv2 clash

March 25th, 2008 by Hen

This came up a couple of times here at OSBC, not overblown but mentioned. It’s a bit painful to hear Legal people worrying about something that doesn’t feel like it should be a huge deal.

Then I noticed Alfresco’s nice FAQ entry on this:

One Response to “AL 2.0 / GPLv2 clash”

  1. Sam Ruby Says:

I think the Alfresco guys have it backwards. The question is not whether the ASF has any patents, but whether Alfresco or their downstream users have any patents that the licensed ASF code infringes upon. If they don’t, the conclusion still works out to be the same.
